Momentum at HAS for Six Young Talents
Set on reversing the brain drain of young Hungarian talent, HAS is now giving a wide scope for six of its best young minds.
The result of the competition conducted for outstanding young Hungarian scientists was announced on 2 June by HAS President József Pálinkás.
With substantial help from the corporate sphere, in its new project called Momentum HAS is earmarking almost EUR 1m of its own resources to found research teams at its research institutes to be led by six young talents in fields as disparate as astronomy, medical science, brain research, enzymology, linguistics, and informatics.
Corporations donating HUF 2-5m each to the project nicknamed "brain gain" include Hungarian pharmaceutical, building, and software giants.
HAS Research Institutes hosting the new research teams in the above mentioned fields have pledged to incorporate the teams in their budgetary structure after three years marked by the teams' major findings.
